NEWSFLASH! VUWSA still on budget

VUWSA is still on budget for 2007, says Treasurer Alexander Neilson.

Neilson says Uni Games “appears to have broken even, which is much improved over the budgeted $12,000 loss.” he says “a bit of sponsorship work and other stuff” helped VUWSA save $12,000 on its subsidization of hoodies and other gear.

Neilson also says Orientation came in $2000 under budget.

“We’re staying to budget or under budget in pretty much every area,” Neilson says. Neilson told Salient in May that he anticipated VUWSA would “stick to budget really well” for the remainder of the year, unlike last year where the Association found itself with a $100,000 deficit.
