Te Tūtae me te Tuna

I tētehi rā, ka mānu te Tūtae i roto i te manga. Ka kitea atu e te Tuna, kātahi ka pātai atu ia. “E haere ana koe ki hea, e Tūtae?”

Ka whakahokia e te Tūtae. “Ka ahu atu au ki te moana.”

“Tēnā pea, ka whakataetae tāua kia kaukau ai ki te moana?” Nā te Tuna tēnei wero.

Ka whakaae te Tūtae, ā, ka tīmata te whakataetae. E kau teretere ana te Tuna, ka peka atu, ka peka mai i te tī me te tā. Engari, kei te haere pōturi te Tūtae.

Kāore e roa ka tinihanga te Tuna i te haere a te Tutae. “Tō hamuti e Tūtae, tino pūhoi koe! Nā te ngata koe? Ē, he tutae noa iho koe! Ko au te toa ki te kaukau!”

Ka mānu pōturi te Tūtae i te piko o te manga. Ka kitea e te Tuna, ka karangahia.
