Visual Arts – Let’s go on a date. But where? I KNOW!

Can I Interest You In… is an exhibition by Kelly Spencer and Tui Harrington showing at Deluxe Cafe this March and I’m determined for us to go together. Deluxe often has delectable artwork splashed up on their walls, but the “slightly more colourful versions of reality” offered by these two ladies has me cooing with excitement. As we delicately spear forks full of cake into each other’s mouths and judge people who put sugar in their coffee, the two of us will gaze amazedly at these gouache and watercolour artworks which feature animals, people, black lines and sometimes a heady mixture of all three. I’m happy to report that both artists are freelance graphic designers who welcome commissions and Tui also creates jewellery such as crochet knuckledusters which, since we’re dating and all, you should know I’m in love with.
