Salient’s print edition is read by 16,000 students in the Wellington area each week during term-time. It was hailed as student magazine of the year in 2003 at the Aotearoa Student Press Association awards, and Warwick Rodger called it “Magazine of the Year” in North and South in 2003. It has a strong focus on current affairs pertinent to students and the wider public, as well as wide-ranging arts and opinion coverage.
