"The best bug in the first Command and Conquer was of course being able to sandbag your way to the enemy base and building a chain fence over the entrance and locking out their Tiberium harvester. And then you just build a tonne of tanks and blow up his construction yard and mop up the rest, those were the days…"

hah I wasnt the only one. I think I had c&c dreams even

The newer redalerts and c&cs dont have the same feeling playing them.

You will probably have to use DOSbox to play them now if you are on XP, Vista or Windows 7...

Agree, Command and Conquer was quite a good development and utilisation of the Dune II (by same game company) style game and took such gaming to another level another good clone of this type of game has to be Age of Empires...

Command and Conquer was good in the sense that the full motion video shots didn't detract any of the game play.

And who can forget Kane's first appearance with a pistol shot to the head of his traitorous Seth...

Wing Commander III and IV were good which is what I think of when I think of full motion video CD Rom games back in the day - good old Mark Hamill and Malcolm McDowell...

But yes there were a lot of duds on the old 486 and Pentium back in the day in the mid 90s... Myst was good but that was more CGI from what I remember... And Jon Rhys-Davies popped up in a few over the years like Dune 2000...
