I really enjoyed reading Sussana Clarke’s Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrel in its baskerville typeface, by changing its presentation the message seemed strong.

I have an unabashed love of tahoma for computer screens, I am not sure why.

Can we all go on record saying that we hate papyrus?

Hoefler Text is brilliant. Other favourites for me are Linux Libertine O and Cardo, although neither are as good as Hoefler Text. Also there’s a Latex package (unavailable on Mac last time I checked, sadly) which reproduces 16th Century typeface, not with any cheesy over the top “Gothic” nonsense, but simply by making letters, sizes, margins etc subtly (very subtly) irregular. It’s brilliant. So brilliant I’ve forgotten its name.
