I feel vindicated in my decision not to have yet eaten anything purchased on the VUW campus. I'd rather starve. I used to have the odd gripe about price/quality at Canterbury...but down there is comparative paradise (3+ decent cafes, big cafetaria with both grease and healthy stuff, chinese, good fresh indian food). Choice. Then again, the UCSA owns the student union building and runs some of the outlets in it, with student interests at heart. There's your explanation right there I suppose. Somebody should buy a house on Kelburn Parade, rip out the insides and turn it into some place hip and healthy to eat. Pity all the houses are already housing academic staff! Wowee. It's the same everywhere where there is no competition: staff get lazy and managers get complacent. I don't blame the drop-outs at Eurest, they are simply taking the free ride that's been handed to them on a plate. I blame the University for not giving enough of a shit.
